It is not necessary to use expensive cuts of meat, poultry or fish. Do try to use sources of meat that are advertised as "natural" to avoid products with additives and hormones. You can use frozen mixed vegetables or you can use fresh. Don't be afraid to be creative. What's good for you is good for your pet.

Dairy products and eggs (cooked) can be used to add variety to this diet or when you didn't make it to the store. Whole grain pasta or other whole grains, such as barley, can be used as a substitute or in addition to the rice. Always look for natural and or organic meats. Last but not least use common sense. If your pet is gaining weight on the maintenance diet, you are probably feeding too much and need to cut back a little or if they are losing weight, add more. This diet can be added to a dry or canned food.

We strongly suggest using the products (FROMM  and Life’s Abundance) we have in the hospital because we have had these tested. You can go online and Google “rendering plant” to see what other companies are using. Please ask our staff about these products.
